Creating a future of excellence...
Over six months in 2015, we developed a new five-year Strategic Plan for Western Health. The Plan sets out who we want to be in five years and how we will get there.
Founded on great success
It’s important to acknowledge that we have already achieved so much since the development of our last strategic plan, culminating in with the Premier’s Health Service of the Year Award in 2014. We have built on the core elements of this success to create a leading organisation over the next five years.
We asked for your help
This process was about everyone getting involved in shaping the Plan.
What we did:
- Over 120 hours of one-on-one interview, meetings and focus groups
- More than 1,000 people engaged in the strategic planning process
- Around 180 consumers interviewed
- More than 80 community partners engaged
- Over 700 staff and volunteers involved in focus groups and meetings
Our new plan
In developing our new Strategic Plan, we listened to our community and we heard that, while we have improved significantly over the last five years, there a number of ways in which we can do even better, particularly in reducing the wait for services; matching services to the diverse needs of our community; providing better facilities; and delivering more consistent care.
Our strategic aims and objectives are reflective of this feedback and take into account the social characertistics of our region and the complex healthcare issues they generate.
