Research and Best Care Conference 2020
Western Health's Research and Best Care Conference: 26 - 30 October 2020
The Western Health Research and Best Care Conference (RBCC) will be held from 26 – 30 October, 2020. Whilst our COVID-19 response has necessitated we amend the format of the RBCC for 2020, we value this opportunity to highlight the adaptability of our staff and the service changes that have effectively been implemented in response to COVID-19.
The RBCC will comprise of daily Zoom webinars that cover various Research and Best Care initiatives, challenges, insights and achievements relating to the COVID-19 pandemic from a Western Health, national and international perspective.
We encourage all staff to attend as many sessions as possible to celebrate the great work undertaken during unprecedented times, the adaptability of our models of care in response to COVID-19, and to learn more about our future initiatives and innovations.

Bio: Professor Jodie McVernon is a public health physician and epidemiologist. She has extensive expertise in clinical vaccine trials, epidemiologic studies and mathematical modelling of infectious diseases, gained in Oxford, London and Melbourne. For the past 15 years she has been building capacity in infectious diseases modelling in Australia to inform immunization and pandemic preparedness policy. She has led nationally distributed networks of modellers informing responses to the 2009 H1N1 influenza pandemic and the current COVID-19 pandemic.
