The aim of the program is to provide a pathway in which clinical staff can achieve Advanced Life Support (ALS) competency
Topics and skills to be covered in the program include how to manage patients in the immediate periods of crisis aiming to prevent deterioration and cardiac arrest, covering:
The Advanced Life Support 1 course is Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) approved. This accredited course is well recognized both in Australia and overseas as a competency pathway for ALS skills. Assessment tis continuous throughout the day. CPD points can be acquired through the following colleges for this course: ACEM / ACRRM / ANZCA / CICM / RACGP / RACP.
The program is open to health care professionals working in acute clinical areas and includes Nursing & Midwifery, Medical and Paramedic staff, those who are part of a resuscitation or MET team, final year Medical Students and General Practitioners. If you are unsure if this course is suitable to certify you for working in critical care areas, please check with your manager prior to enrolling.
The program is limited to 12 participants.
Prior competence in CPR is an essential prerequisite to attending the course.
