Volunteers in our Emergency Departments offer social and emotional support to patients and their family members in an often difficult environment. From simply 'being there' to talk and listen, or by offering refreshments and reading materials and helping to keep children occupied, our VIE volunteers ensure stress levels are kept to a minimum. Volunteer shifts are for 3 hours, from 9am-midnight, 7days a week.
