Sunshine Hospital leads the way in MUM SIZE Study

On Thursday 7 August, Channel 9 News featured a story about the MUM Size Study, which Sunshine Hospital has been involved in. The MUM SIZE Study, which is led by the University of Melbourne, is being undertaken in collaboration with seven Victorian hospitals and focuses on improving patient care for obese pregnant women giving birth by caesarean and the corresponding resource implications. Nearly 1500 women have been recruited for the study and more than 500 of these women were recruited at Sunshine Hospital, through a major effort led by Western Health’s Deputy Director, Department of Anaesthesia and Pain Management, Dr Elizabeth Hessian, who is a key lead in this research.
