High Tea for Day Hospice

The Mercy and Western Day Hospice will hold its second annual High Tea fundraiser on Saturday 29 March 2014 at the St Bernadette’s Community Centre in Sunshine.

The Day Hospice is a joint initiative between Western Health and Mercy Health and is run at Sunshine Hospital every Tuesday and Thursday. It provides a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment for people with life limiting illness.

This is the second annual High Tea fundraiser for the Day Hospice and last year funds raised at the High Tea were used for the Grant-A-Wish program, which aims to provide palliative care patients with an opportunity to fulfill a special wish. Some of the many wonderful wishes granted to clients in the last five years include – a day at the Rialto Towers, a trip along the Great Ocean Road in a convertible, tickets to a Michael Buble concert and then meeting the singer afterwards, tickets to Andre Rieu and The Seekers, along with a family weekend away at Lorne. The program has also been beneficial for families, as it allows their loved ones to create some special memories.

Anyone is welcome to attend this fun filled afternoon, which is a great chance to dress up, enjoy some fantastic food and entertainment, as well as supporting a wonderful cause.
