The Falls and Mobility Clinic assesses clients who are falling or having near falls when the cause is not known. Assessment is completed by a Geriatrician. This is a Geriatrician only clinic.
Specialist medical assessment
Information on appropriate falls prevention plan and recommendations for patient and GP.
If indicated and appropriate, referral to Allied Health for assessment and therapy through Community Based Rehabilitation or appropriate local service.
The Falls and Mobility Clinic does not provide ongoing treatment or case management.
Adults who have an unclear cause for falls or near falls and require a Geriatrician opinion.
Clients usually living in the council areas of Brimbank, Hobsons Bay, Maribyrnong and the Shire of Melton.
For those clients wishing to attend Western Health's Falls and Mobility Clinic and live outside of these areas, please contact the service to discuss the most appropriate Clinic location.
Medical assessments are by appointment at Footscray Hospital.
There is no fee involved and interpreters are always used if needed.
Transport must be arranged privately (i.e. by the patient).

Referrals are accepted from a medical doctor or allied health professional. This includes Specialists, GPs and hospital departments. Referrals can be faxed or mailed.
