Western Health runs a multi-disciplinary Lung Cancer Service which is actively involved in clinical trials. We have a specialist team of Thoracic Surgeons, Respiratory Physicians, Medical Oncologists, Radiation Oncologists, Radiologists, Palliative Care Physicians, Allied Health and Pathologists working together to provide an integrated and comprehensive service.
Clinics include Respiratory Medicine, Thoracic Surgery, Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology.
Lung Multi-disciplinary Meeting (MDM) is held weekly at Footscray Hospital for case discussion and treatment planning.
Patients with the following red flags require immediate referral to the Emergency Department:
Moderate to severe haemoptysis
Symptoms of superior vena cava obstruction.
