Thursday 2 October 2014
Victoria University Footscray Campus, Ballarat Road
The BreastWest Committee are pleased to announce that BreastWest is the beneficiary for the second annual Victoria University Pink Day to be held on Thursday 2nd October at the Footscray VU campus, with food, cake stalls, a silent auction, and more. All staff across the University will be encouraged to wear pink for the day.
Breast cancer survivor and VU Project Manager Renae Vojtek is organising the event with her colleagues in support of women’s cancers. Renae was inspired to launch VU’s first Pink Ribbon Day last year – established exclusively for women’s cancers – by her colleagues asking what they could do to help her. This year the Footscray campus is ‘Turning Pink for a Day’ to raise money to support breast cancer patients in the west who are undergoing treatment for breast cancer through Western Health’s Breast Services clinics. All money raised will provide practical everyday items that women suffering from breast cancer will need during the course of their treatment.
