Our biggest risk now is complacency, says Victoria's Western Health infectious diseases boss

Victoria's COVID-19 cases are still rising, though more slowly. Hospital admissions are also up, as are intensive care cases. Hospital staff are also becoming infected, posing an additional risk to those individuals and potentially to the health care system itself. Dr Marion Kainer says the biggest risk now is public complacency. She says even with a lot of preparation, the current outbreaks could overwhelm the health system if people flout physical distancing rules.
