Western Health Supporting Crazy Socks 4 Docs Day

This Friday 1 June it’s the Crazy Socks 4 Docs Day, a movement aiming to reduce the unfortunate stigma surrounding the mental health of medical staff, but is a crucial topic for all of our clinical colleagues.

Sadly, the statistics are distressing, and this is not only an issue for doctors but a major problem for many health professional colleagues.

20% of doctors have been diagnosed with depression
25% of doctors have thought about suicide
1 in 50 have actually tried

Let’s wear crazy socks on Friday to remind each other that we’re all in this together and we will support our colleagues who may be silently struggling.

Please visit the following link from AMA Victoria for more information.

Thank you in advance for promoting this important day.

Warm regards

Dr Paul Eleftheriou
Chief Medical Officer
