Each year in October, Western Health unites to celebrate the fantastic research and quality improvement work from across the entire organisation. The Research and Best Care Conference was formalised in 2019, bringing together the terrific work of Research Week and Best Care Awards. For several years, these two streams have provided awards in recognition of work undertaken across our healthcare divisions, made possible by the support of corporate partners.
Thanks to our corporate partners, in 2020 the Foundation was able to offer grants of up to $5000 to Western Health staff, including clinical and non-clinical teams and individuals, for the following activities.
Furthering research work, or publication of research findings
Consumable equipment required to support research project
Project-specific activity, where the project is aligned to a Western Health strategic priority
Promote Western Health as a leading centre for research.
Imbed a culture of quality improvement through research and implementation of research findings in the organisation.
Encourage and support staff from all disciplines [clinical and non-clinical] to participate in research activities.
Facilitate the translation of research findings into clinical practice.
Encourage multi-disciplinary and inter-organisational research to better address the complex clinical care environment.
Foster collaborative relationships to optimise opportunities for research
