Western Health thank you for your interest in volunteering during the COVID19 response. Unfortunately the Community Engagement and Volunteer program has been suspended and there are no volunteers across the sites.
We look to hearing from you once this pandemic has passed.
The Western Health Volunteer Program is one of the largest health service volunteer programs in Victoria, focusing on engaging with our local community by offering relevant and worthwhile volunteering opportunities.
Western Health is committed to recruiting and retaining volunteers who actively support our mission, philosophy and values.
Community members are encouraged to share their time, skills and life experiences through a range of diverse and innovative volunteering roles, working alongside health care professional staff to enable best possible outcomes for patients and their families.
Prospective volunteers are required to make a firm commitment of at least 12 months to their role with Western Health.
Volunteers are also required to complete orientation and mandatory training, and maintain regular phone, email or face to face contact with their Volunteer Coordinator.
A typical volunteer role entails one shift per week or fortnight of approximately 2 to 4 hours duration. The shifts are at a set time each week.
The Western Health Volunteer Management Team is committed to supporting you in your role, and offers ongoing support and supervision.
