The Psychology Department incorporates the disciplines of Clinical Psychology, Health Psychology, and Clinical Neuropsychology.
Clinicians provide expertise in the assessment, treatment, support and management of psychological, emotional, cognitive, and behavioural syndromes, across both inpatient and outpatient settings at Western Health.

Please speak to any of your treating medical or health professionals at Western Health and ask for a referral if you would like to learn more about the following or think you need help with:
Difficulties with memory, attention and concentration or other areas of your thinking
Struggling with feelings of depression, stress, anxiety, frustration or any other unpleasant emotions
Issues with anger and frustration
Symptoms of trauma such as panic attacks, flashbacks, nightmares, and hopelessness
Struggling with your diagnosis
Having difficulties with deciding on treatment and / or staying on treatment
Coping with pain
Please speak to any of your treating medical or health professionals at Western Health and ask for a referral.
After you have been referred, the Psychologist will then contact you to make an appointment.
If you do not want to use the Psychology Service at Western Health, but you have concerns for your mental health you can call the Psychiatric Triage Line on 1300 874 243 to talk about your concerns.
For crisis support please call Lifeline on 13 11 14 or The Victorian Suicide Line on 1300 651 251. Both services are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
