At Western Health, most of the rotations are accredited for
GP training. Western Health and VMA also offer a unique
recruitment and retention program where GP registrars
undertake all their hospital and GP rotations in the western
area. Information on training to be a GP can be found via the
above websites or by emailing the GP Liaison Officer at gp@wh.org.au
Western Health also offers a prevocational GP term for hospital doctors who have not yet committed to any speciality (including general practice) but would like to have a "taste" of general
practice before committing to vocational training in any speciality. Currently Western Health has a placement in Wodonga in collaboration with Bogong Regional Training Network.
Information on these prevocational terms can be found by
emailing the GP Liaison Officer at gp@wh.org.au.
