Starting life as a small community hospital, Williamstown has served the local community for over 120 years. Today the 110-bed hospital provides vital healthcare services to both its local communities and to the west of Melbourne.
In 2016, Western Health Foundation commenced a community fundraising appeal to transform the central space of Williamstown Hospital into a 'new heart' within the hospital. Thanks to the generosity of our donors we have successfully raised $2.5M which will provide for:
Work on the long-awaited Heart of Williamstown project officially commenced in late August with the appointment of Plan Group as the principal contractor for the building work.
Buildings work kicked this month with the project expected to be completed in mid-2020.
During this time we will be working hard to ensure that there is minimal disruption to patients and services offered onsite.
