Karen was appointed the Chair of Western Health Foundation in September 2019. Most recently she was the Chief Executive of the Melbourne Convention Bureau from 2011 to 2019. Prior to that, she held a number of senior executive roles in various organisations across not for profit and commercial entities, along with board positions at local and international level.
Susan is Chair of the Susan Alberti Medical Research Foundation, newly appointed Director of the National Australia Day Council, a former Western Bulldogs Board Member and Founding Director of the Western Bulldogs Forever Foundation. Susan is the Co Founder and CEO of the DANSU Group.
Jenny is a Principal Lawyer at Gordon Legal. She represents people living and working in the western suburbs of Melbourne who have been injured in work-related or transport accidents. Jenny has been accredited as a specialist in Personal Injury Law by the Law Institute of Victoria and is a member of the Victorian Trades Hall Council WorkCover Committee.
Russell was appointed Chief Executive of Western Health in October 2017, after almost five years in the role of Executive Director Operations. After commencing his career in Britain with a B.Sc in Applied Biology from John Moores University Liverpool, Russell has held numerous executive roles across multiple sectors from mental health, acute care and community care to a period as a Commissioner of Health Services.
Glenn is the Chief Operating Officer of Plenary Group, responsible for the construction, delivery and ongoing asset management of Plenary's public infrastructure portfolio. Glenn also Chairs various project-specific Boards including Casey Hospital, Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, Biosciences Research Facility and Queensland Schools. Glenn is also a Director of the Western Roads Upgrade and High Capacity Metro Trains Boards.
A lifetime Sunbury local, Glenn has supported various supporting clubs as volunteer, club official or sponsor, and is a proud supporter of the Western Bulldogs and Sunbury Lions Football Netball Clubs. He was appointed to the Foundation Board in January 2019 and is currently on a leave of absence from official duties.
Cuc is a community leader and has been involved as a member and Chairperson on a number of local education and multicultural organisations. Having come to Australia as a refugee herself, Cuc's experience and passion led to her receiving a Public Service Medal for her contribution to migrant settlement and education services in the western suburbs of Melbourne.
In 2018, Cuc became a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. After assisting with the fundraising for the new Joan Kirner Women and Children's building in Sunshine Hospital, Cuc joined the Western Health Foundation Board in April 2019. Cuc recently served a term as the Mayor of Maribyrnong. Cuc has now returned to her public servant role, which she has held for more than 30 years, whilst concurrently maintaining her role as the Councillor of Stoney Creek.
Bronwyn is a former Victorian Minister for Housing, Aged Care, Community Services, Health , Education , Skills and Workforce Participation. Bronwyn's 13 year parliamentary career included 11 as a Minister, and is the longest serving female minister in Victoria's history. Bronwyn is the current chair of the Western Health Board and n 2019 was appointed as the CEO of Uniting Vic/Tas.
Jenny Sadler has enjoyed a life-long association with McDonalds, starting from her first part time job as a school student, and progressing to today where she is the major franchise-holder in Melbourne's west, owning and operating nine local restaurants. Jenny is a hands-on business person, and is passionate about providing her 1000+ staff with the same opportunities for success that she was afforded. Her business success has resulted in multiple appearances and speaking roles at franchising and business expos across Australia and internationally.
A Williamstown resident, Jenny is also passionate about supporting her local community. This led in 2014 to her joining the fundraising efforts for the new children's ward at Sunshine Hospital, and in 2017 Jenny helped facilitate over $2M in community funding for the Heart of Williamstown Appeal, supporting some major upgrades to Williamstown Hospital. Jenny joined the Western Health Foundation Board in February 2018.
Travis is a chartered accountant with over 12 years of experience, specialising in providing financial assurance and advisory services to ASX listed and private equity backed businesses. His industry experience includes retail and wholesale consumer products, healthcare, construction and travel.
Suellen is the Executive Director People, Culture and Communications at Western Health. Throughout her career, Suellen has been committed to supporting quality patient care, initially as a nurse and later, through her development of skills in workforce planning and people services, across both NSW and Victoria.
Julia was appointed the Director of Western Health Foundation in January 2018. Previously she was the General Manager of Philanthropy at Zoos Victoria from 2011 to December 2017. Julia is a Board Member of the Footscray Community Arts Centre and an Advisory Board Member of the Brimbank Community Fund.
