For appointments
Waiting time for appointments to Western Health Outpatient Services is variable depending on the urgency of your illness/injury.
- Urgent appointments are generally seen within 1 month;
- Semi urgent in 2 - 3 months and
- Routine appointments from 3+ months.
It is important that you contact us should you not be able to attend an appointment or no longer need an appointment to ensure that appointment times are able to be given to others waiting.
Within the Outpatient Department:
It is expected that following the work of the Specialist Clinics Redesign Project, patients will wait no longer than an hour for their appointment.
Currently the waiting times within the department can be up to two hours and so it is suggested that you:
- Allow for child care
- Allow for parking
- Bring something to occupy your time - book/magazine
- Bring a snack
We request that you please be patient with staff as long waits occur for a variety of reasons that are outside their control.
