Western Health was allocated $21.4 million by the Victorian Government to provide for the construction of a new day hospital in Sunbury.

- The new hospital will provide renal dialysis and chemotherapy services, two operating theatres for day procedures and a range of specialist clinics
- Sunbury Day Hospital will be co-located with the Sunbury Community Health Centre
- Construction commenced in November 2009 with completion expected late 2010 and services beginning in 2011.
