1. Paediatric Emergency MedicineThe Department of Emergency Medicine at Sunshine Hospital is offering 3, 6 or 12 month Paediatric Emergency Medicine Registrar positions in 2009. These posts are accredited by the RACP for Advanced Training in Paediatric Emergency Medicine and by the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine. The positions will suit emergency medicine trainees, paediatric trainees pursuing a specialist career in paediatric emergency medicine or intending to practice where they will be required to provide emergency care for children. The RACP is now mandating that trainees in General Paediatrics complete 6 months of Acute Paediatrics during Advanced Training. This position would satisfy those requirements. Sunshine Hospital Emergency sees over 60,000 patients per year of which ~ 40% are under 17 years of age. Notable features of the department and position include:

2. Community Child HealthThis position is for Trainees interested in furthering their training in community child health. This year has three (3) core components: Individual and group supervision supports each fellow in attaining his/her goals for the training year, and provides a basis for evaluation and development of the training program using the framework of the Royal Australiasian College of Physicians Professional Learing Profolio.
