Internships 2009

Applications are welcome, from eligible final year medical students, to join the team at Western Health in 2009.

Should you choose to become a member of our staff you will find yourself in a supported environment, where Senior Consultants make an effort to know you personally. Our education program includes twice weekly intern education sessions, incorporating simulation workshops and case-based education scenarios.

Our leading health professionals will assist you in reaching your full potential through formal education and hands-on learning experiences.

In 2009, Western Health expects to employ up to 52 interns. In this first year, each intern will rotate through five terms. The majority of Interns will rotate to a rural hospital in Wodonga, Mildura or Wangaratta.  Most rural rotations provide experience in core areas of Medicine, Surgery and Emergency Medicine.

     - Emergency (Sunshine, Western, Wodonga or Mildura)
     - Aged Care (Sunshine)

Other Rotations

     - Infectious Diseases
     - Cardiology
     - Emergency Wangaratta
     - Orthopaedics
     - Plastic Surgery
     - Urology
     - Respiratory and Sleep Disorders
     - Night Duty
