Western Health's Volunteer Program focuses on engaging with our local community by offering relevant and worthwhile volunteering opportunities.
The program operates across four sites and is one of the largest health service volunteer programs in Victoria.
Our volunteers work alongside health care professional staff to enable best possible outcomes for patients and their families.
Community members are encouraged to share their time, skills and life-experiences through a range of diverse and innovative volunteering roles.
The program has been established in accordance with relevant National Standards and Principles. All volunteers are required to consent to Police and referee checks, and in some cases a Working with Children Check is required.
Prospective volunteers are required to make a commitment of at least 12 months to their role within Western Health. A typical volunteer role entails one shift per week, or fortnight, of approximately 3 hours duration. We are unable to support short-term or episodic volunteering roles.
Our community engagement opportunities support Western Health in fundraising, events, school and corporate partnerships.
The volunteer program provides volunteers with:
• Volunteer Recognition events
